The Ile d’Oléron is the largest island in the Atlantic, and also the most southerly. It’s said that life is good on Oléron! The island’s charm lies in its mild climate and surprisingly different landscapes, coastlines and villages.

Very colorful, with its marshes, its forest bordering certain beaches, and its colorful fishermen’s huts. With its rare authenticity thanks to its oyster culture, flourishing agriculture and viticulture, it is an autonomous island, though linked to the mainland by a bridge.
With a length of 30km and a width of 10km, it is the challenger to Corsica in France. The Ile d’Oléron is steeped in oyster and salt farming, as well as winegrowing with Pineau and Cognac. Come and immerse yourself in the local people and their trades, which have been based on the ocean for centuries, and share unforgettable moments.
Discover the world of professional fishing, and experience the comings and goings of boats in the port of La Cotinière, Charente-Maritime’s 1st artisanal fishing port and 6th in France.

Saint-Trojan-les-Bains

Situated in the south of the Ile d’Oléron, between sea and forest, Saint-Trojan-les-Bains saw a boom in tourism at the beginning of the 20th century with the advent of sea bathing, hence its name.
The iodized air is reminiscent of oyster country, with its typical little port and multicolored huts offering an unparalleled change of scenery. This is the mimosa village par excellence, celebrated every year in early February. Come and discover its typical village center, its unmissable market and its beautiful seaside houses, unique in Oléron.
Bordered by long sandy beaches, a forest of maritime pines adorns this renowned seaside resort.
The Ile d’Oléron is an island of space and light, playful and authentic.
